Want to be heard? Listen up...
Here at Psyphon Games, we try really hard to keep military oriented games from becoming action movie, rock paper scissors, watered down experiences it seems all the game studios love to make. They pick and choose their ‘reality’ or they just plain don’t know what they are talking about. We think that everything should be represented as close to real life as possible with little thought given to ‘balance’. This allows players to use their minds (the most powerful weapon on today’s battlefield) and strategies they have learned to give them an edge. Lets face it, real war is not fair, and is not balanced, why should a war game be? Anything else is lying, or an injustice.
That is our stance, and it dictates everything we do. We also believe in the free flow of information, anything learned by someone is a chance to improve the world we live in (or game :P ). So we have decided to take contributing authors for Psyphon Game’s blog. We think it is a great chance to broaden everyone’s perceptions and really change how military games are made and played.
If you are interested in writing for us we only have the following rules:
- Make sure everything is spelled properly (uk english vs usa english spelling differences are not a big deal IE: grey/gray)
- Make sure your statement/argument is formed well and written about in a regular essay format.
Example: -opening thesis -supporting facts/arguments -conclusion -sources
- Have fun, and rejoice! You may have just equipped other players/map makers/mission designers/game makers with what they need to create a truly great experience!
Do you have any thoughts about military gaming? Do you have any concepts we haven’t covered that you think the world should know about? Well if you are interested in becoming a contributing author email me: domox[at]psyphon.com or give is a shout in the forum..
Thanks!
